How we collect, use, and protect your information

Summary: We collect minimal data needed to run this site. We use Firebase for authentication and storing your votes/preferences. We don't sell your data or spam you.
1. Who We Are
This website, theaiguy.gg ("the Site"), is operated by Coady Media Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). We create cinematic AI-driven D&D entertainment content.

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address - Used for account identification and communication
- Display name - Shown on the site when you interact
- Authentication data - If you sign in via Google, we receive your Google profile information
2.2 Usage Data
When you use the Site, we collect:
- Votes - Your upvotes/downvotes on shows
- Hype interactions - When you "hype" upcoming projects
- Preferences - Such as background animation settings
2.3 Patreon Account Linking (OAuth)
If you choose to link your Patreon account to sign in or unlock patron features, Patreon will ask you to authorise us to access a limited set of information. With your consent, we receive and store:
- Your Patreon user ID - so we can match webhook updates to your account
- Email address and full name - to create or link your account on the Site
- Profile picture URL - displayed on your account if available
- Membership status - whether you are an active patron
- Tier name and pledge amount - to grant access to the correct patron features
- Pledge start date and last charge status - to track active membership
We do not store your Patreon access token. It is used once during sign-in to fetch the data above, then discarded. Future updates to your tier or membership status arrive via Patreon webhooks rather than by us calling the Patreon API on your behalf.
You can revoke our access at any time from your Patreon account settings under "Apps you've authorised". Doing so does not delete your account on the Site. To delete your Site account, see Section 7.
2.4 Public Discord Vault Feed
When you link your Patreon account for the first time, we post a single celebratory announcement to our public Discord channel #vault-feed. The post contains only your Patreon display name and your tier name (e.g. "Demigod"). It never contains your email, real name (unless that is what you set as your Patreon display name), profile picture, pledge amount, account ID, or any other data.
The feed also includes a running tally of total active patrons and aggregated pack/Residuum reserves. These aggregate numbers do not identify any individual.
If you would prefer not to be announced, contact us at wedoaistuff.contact@gmail.com before linking your Patreon and we will manually opt you out.
2.5 Technical Data
We automatically collect:
- Browser type and version
- Device type
- Pages visited and time spent
- Referring website
This data is collected via Google Analytics 4 and is used to improve the Site.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain your account
- Remember your votes and preferences
- Display vote counts and hype levels to all users
- Improve the Site based on usage patterns
- Respond to your enquiries
We do not:
- Sell your personal data to third parties
- Send marketing emails (unless you opt in)
- Share your email address publicly
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored using Google Firebase, which provides:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure cloud storage
- Industry-standard security practices

5. Cookies & Local Storage
We use:
- Firebase Authentication cookies - Essential for keeping you logged in
- Local storage - To remember preferences like background animation settings
- Firebase Analytics cookies - To understand how people use the Site
We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
6. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google Firebase - Authentication, database, analytics
- GitHub Pages - Website hosting
- Cloudflare - DNS, CDN, and request routing in front of the site
- Patreon - If you choose to support us, or link your Patreon account to the Site for tier-based features (governed by Patreon's privacy policy). See Section 2.3 for details on what we receive.
- Discord - Community chat (governed by Discord's policies)
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access - Request a copy of your data
- Correction - Update your account information
- Deletion - Request deletion of your account and data
- Portability - Receive your data in a portable format

8. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we need to retain it for legal purposes.
9. Children's Privacy
The Site is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such data, please contact us immediately.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
